Tone News
October 20, 2004 Since March of this year, Lucy Bowen McCauley, an internationally renowned choreographer, who lives here in Arlington, Virginia, just happened to come see Tone play at the fine IOTA facility in the fall of 2003. And from this live experience, the seeds of wondrous creativity began to grow. Months later, Lucy contacted percussionist Gregg Hudson during this past winter and informed us of "just what pieces she was working on" and she was still listening to Ambient Metals, and "was sure more choices would come from that as well." And "oh, by the way would you guys be willing to play live with us during our annual Dance Performance at the Kennedy Center?" So we’ve been pinching ourselves ever since. Now the actual event is nearly upon us, and I thought we should let you all know. This world premiere work of Lucy's is amazing and we very much want all of you to come see this performance, featuring Tone music both current and from the catalogue. But this is our music presented unlike any previous show -- with the intense, physical focusing component of the choreography of Lucy Bowen McCauley -- live at the Kennedy Center. By visiting the Bowen McCauley Dance Company web-site, you can preview a video of some of the aspects of this creation. It is with great excitement that we announce this special Tone engagement: T E L E M E T R Y Tickets can be purchased online thru the Kennedy Center: We would really love for all to be a part of this event. ~ Tone ~ |
